When I was a kid, we used to visit a temple near my grandparents' house during Lunar New Year. Street vendors lined the passageway from the parking lot to the main temple, making it feel blooming and lively. For me, Sensoji evokes that same feeling. The most popular way to visit Sensoji is to pass through Kaminarimon (Thunder Gate) and stroll past all the street vendors on Nakamise-dōri. The Kaminarimon lantern feels like a welcome sign for a festive and joyful time.
